Question:

Working Holiday in Australia (South African passport)?

I'm very keen to go on a gapyear in Australia which I found advertised on the internet. It's a ranch-type thing and lasts 12 months.

I'm 18, a South African passport holder and I'm wondering if it's possible to get a Working Holiday Visa?

I've researched it on the internet, but I'm getting conflicting information where some sites say it's possible to get one and others say it's not?

Can anyone set the facts straight for me, please?

  1. That's right, you wont be able to. there are other ways you can come here to australia but not on a working visa. also those farm and ranch holidays are crazy. the owners have you awake at ungodly times and work you to the bone. its very hard and you bearly have time to see any of australia. i have talked to quiet a few ppl who have been sucked into them. you can come here as a tourist though. check out the site the person before me quoted. it has everything you need.

  2. south africa does not have a working holiday program with Australia so you do not qualify or that visa
