Working Permit??

I just turned 16 and i want a job. I was wondering if you need a working permit for a summer job and where do i get 1.

  1. Yes you need a working permit to get a summer job.  Any job if your under 18, really.  Really depends on your area.  Usually, if you ask your school, they're give you a sheet for your parents to sign.  Then you can look online or ask your guidance counselor about summer jobs you can get.  In the summer, there's usually some sort of office work, library work, or daycare work.  You don't have to look that hard.  Like in New York City, we have a program called SYEP, where all the teenagers sign up to get a summer job.  But it's not guarenteed to get a job, so if we don't get chosen, we look around ourselves.  If no summer job, then you can also get an internship with or without a stipend.  Those are usually great experiences, no matter if there's money or not involved.  Good luck and happy job hunting!
