Can a company force you t have a 30 minute lunch break in a 7.5 hour working day and between the hours of 12.00 - 14.00?

  1. In the UK employers must make available a 30 min break to employes in every 8 hours worked, this does not have to be paid.


  2. Yes they can.  If you accept the employment terms of being "off the clock" for half an hour a day, then you must deal with it, or leave the job.  If they are forcing you to work and not paying you, thats another story.   Many states do not require a lunch break in their labor laws and do, and a few even require them to be paid.
