How old do you have to be to start working? I know it varies by where you work but I'm thinking about working at Wal-Mart. I am a very dedicated person and I want to start creating a good work ethic. I also want to help my parents since we are having money problems a little bit.

  1. Child labor law states at 15 but you can only work about 4 hours a day. you'll also need parents permission. Although a lot of companies will only hire at 17 and some 18. I don't think Wal-mart hires minors. Your best bet is a regular grocery store like Publex   or Albertson if you are a minor.

  2. It depends on the state laws and it depends on the business you want to work at.  Where I live you have to be 18 to work at Wal-Mart.  My teens made a list of the places in our area and just started calling and asking how old they had to be and if the company was hiring.

  3. 16

  4. if you attain the age of majority that is 18, you can now work as you have attain a majority age
