Working at sonic as a carhop. Keeping up with tips?

For everyone or anyone that has worked at sonic as a carhop how do you keep up with tips. Is there like a final amount and whatever you have recieved over that is your tips for the day? Or what?

when I worked at sonic I seperated my tips.  it seems difficult at first but after you've been doing it a while its easy, just keep it in a different pocket and change things over to bigger bills throughout the day.  with the computer, how it works is that when you scan your name badge, or wristband the computer keeps track of how much money you owe.  At the end of the day the manager will tell you what you owe them and that should be equal to what you have seperated from your tips.  The reason they say to seperate your tips is sometimes the computer messes up and switches two carhops around or sometimes the computer crashes and they dont know who owes what.
