  1. Most restaruants give employees a discount, but not entirely free food. The policy varies with every restaruant since Subway is a franchise, meaning each store has a different owner. But chances are you would get in trouble (fired, and possibly even prosecuted for theft) if you made yourself food and didn't pay the discounted employee price for it.

  2. Yes you would healthwise, their food is so bad for you it is criminal.

  3. no, just say you for got your lunch then you would make a sandwhich

  4. I worked there 7 years ago. I was allowed to make myself a sandwich. We even traded sandwiches for pizza with the Pizza Hut next door. You get real sick of subs after working there. I hate Subway now.

  5. I don't know about Subway in particular... they may be a franchise but there are always cross-company guidelines that the franchises have to follow by contract, so it would be in there.

Every restaurant I've ever worked at I've gotten fed for free at though, even if there were strict rules against it... you just have to be careful and respectful to not abuse the privilege. Even if they say you need a discounted price, odds are they won't care when no one's around and you've worked your tail off the past couple hours.

Be sure to wait until you're asked if you want something to eat by a superior... don't ask yourself if you can make yourself a sandwich... people know you probably want to something to eat because they've worked there for so long, so they will ask you when the time comes that you earn the privilege.
