  2. There are so many roles in "IT" that you would have to be more specific. Contracts pay the best rates.

  4. Depends on your experience and what area of IT you work in. They can range from £16k to £40k and more. It's a little bit like 'how long is a piece of string...'

    DBAs with a couple of years in Oracle or Microsoft SQL - 35 - 60k

    Network admins - 25 - 35k

    Support - 20 - 25K

    In the end they're just stats - it's a hard rule to practice but never sell yourself short. Remember the salaries are undercut by the cost of living. Work in London - live somewhere else.
