I am planning to travel to London and was wondering how easy it is to get a job working as a nurse? Any information would be much appreciated!

  1. If you have finished the training and have some experience, I would think you wouldn't have too much trouble. The advice to check with NHS is the first thing to do.  Ask about the need for work permits and how do you find a position.

Then you may consider working with a recruiter in your field that will help you get everything done that you need. They have all the info and they get paid by finding people to fill the jobs. (You shouldn't be charged for the service.)

This site lists medical jobs, so check it out to see what they have:

    www.workgateways.com

and also, just google "nursing jobs in the UK", to see what  recruiter info comes up. (I just did it before posting this response, there's a bunch of options.)

I went to the UK from USA to work as a Social Worker. I went through a recruiter and had to do a lot of paperwork before it was all ready.  If you're starting to think about it, do a little background work and see how long it would take.

  2. Hi Lanna,

It looks like the answer above is spam so don't take to much notice of it.

First you will need to tell us what sort of qualifications or experience you have if any.

Your best bet would be to go to the NHS website and contact someone there. They will tell you the best avenues or courses you may need to take first.

It should be easy enough, we have many foreign nurses in the public and private sector,

    Good luck and enjoy London.
