I'm living in Australia at the mo and I'd like to know what are the main differences between aussies and kiwis? It's great here, but I've the impression that it's a bit americanized. Is NZ like that as well? if you want to get a job here you gotta show a 'hype and over happy' attitude, which lead people to be a bit fake, I think. In Europe for example, I've the feeling people are more natural, I don't know...

  1. NZ is a low wage economy with high taxes, Australia has high wages and lower personal taxes,

yes australians are more hyper or go getter, kiwis seem to be more laid back......

  2. aaah yeah, more or less..........................

  3. No it is quite a different environment.

Some comments - NZ does not have as strong Union's as Australia. Not saying it doesn't but it is very common in a workplace to have only a few people in a Union. From my experience in Australia, it is far more common to be unionised.

wages tend to be lower as well (i think last figures were approx 15%??)

Personally, i prefer NZ's work style but that's just me.
