I would like to apply for New Look, H&M, Next etc for working there full time until i have university in 2009 in September (next year)

Although i sent New Look a CV and Cover letter a few months ago but got no reply, i am rather shy and dont want to have to go into places to ask, is there anything i can write on my cv or anything that is likely to give me the job or interview?

Im 17 and 18 in a week.

Thanks

  1. DON'T BE SHY.

If you really want this job you have to make sure you get noticed. If you go to the New Look, H&M, Next stores and enquire about not getting a reply for their job vacancies then I'm sure the manager will be impressed that you're commited.

  2. Stores get 100 s of CV s every month and don't always reply.  Make sure your CV is as professional as possible but don't expect this alone will get you a job. Look at Jobcentre Plus website search for job pages under the retail category to see what shops have real live vacancies rather than sending lots of spec letters. If you want to work with the public then can I suggest you need to overcome your shyness and just go for it if you really really want that job, You don't say if you have any experience of working but if not then think about doing some volunteer work while you look for paid employment. That will improve your CV and your confidence while helping others.  Good luck.

  3. Don't forget to try Peacocks clothing http://www.peacocks.co.uk/ - they always have some vacancies. Check out the website for more information.
