Question:

Working in UK?

I'm coming over from the States for 3 months this year to the UK and I was wondering if anyone knew of whether I had to have a visa or some sort of verification to work there, and if so what kind of work could I do. I know that there would have to be a passport and everything but is there something more I should know of? This will be my first time there so working would definitely help me get to know people and the area. I'm very excited to learn more about people in the UK.

  1. You'd better check with the British Consulate in your area- not worth risking duff information from this site and then find yourself here as an illegal-  Don't be so excited about learning about us- we ain't so different from you- and don't tell us how cute our accent is! Good luck!

  2. You will need legal permission to work.  You should find everything you need to know on the link below

  3. Sorry to have to tell you but because you are not from the EU you cannot just up sticks and move here hoping to work.  You will only be allowed into the UK if you can prove that you have enough funds to support yourself whilst you are here, or you already have a job to come to...for which you will need a work permit.  Also the vacancy you will be filling has to have been offered to a citizen of the EU first and it's found that there is no one from the EU who can do the job.  The only other way is if you have a skill which is in high demand here.

We would have the same problem trying to move to the States to work.
