Working in a school (UK question)?

I have applied for a non teaching position in a school.

Does anyone know if I would be paid for the holidays or will they pro rata the salary that so that I dont get paid for the school holidays. In other words, is the salary they are advertising the final salary or do I need to pro rata it so the salary doesnt include the holidays?

  1. All the Non-Teaching Jobs I have seen advertised clearly say in the adverts you ONLY get paid during TERM TIME.

  2. if it's a full-time permanent position then yes the salary will continue over the summer.

if it is a temporary position then you will not receive money in the holidays.

  3. i worked in a special needs scool for 5 years, the salary they give you is usually based on you working the full year, but you dont due to school holidays, so they will deduct the amount of weeks you dont work from that salary, they spread the payments out so you still get paid as is you are working the full month. pay is rubbish though, which is why i left! lol

  4. My nephew has just started as a teaching assistant, on a permanent basis, and not as a temporary. He says his salary will be paid pro rata, and that he will not receive payment for holidays.

But surely this question should be addressed to the school, not on here?
