Working in a union super-market?

i just got hired for the courtesy clerk position in a supermarket which is union. Does this means that i'll be paid better than the minimum-wage?

  1. No, youll be paid whatever all the other super-markets pay. The union is like a protector of your job. The union will help you fight for your job if your ever going to get fired or written up. Heres an example......say a manager doesnt like you only because the way you do your hair...so he wants to fire you. You can call the union, explain the situation, they'll come in and land that manager with HHUGGEE problems for discrimination.
