Working in wine region of Bordeaux?

Does anyone know how you go about getting a job in the wine region during picking season. How much does it pay? I've heard it's back breaking work, is this true? How do you contact vineyards to ask for work and how long does the work last?

I don t know how you can get a job, but what I know is that in Bordeaux area most of work is now done with machines,and they mostly hire local people...but you got vendange in many other place(Bourgogne center france,south around perpignan...etc)Try to find on the net adress of local winery or send enquieries to tourist offices in the different wine places....
