Working on a Oil Rig?

When I turn 18 I want to go and do a survival course to work offshore. I think there may be a problem though, I'm diabetic insulin dependent (type 1). Do offshore companies allow diabetics on their oil rigs to work?

  1. Yes they do...

The Medic's on board oil rigs are registered nurses and paramedics. Long as you provide your medication you should be ok! They can help you monitor sugar levels should you be concerned!

  2. They ususally have on-site EMT's on the rig's, so as long as you know how to control it, it should not be a problem
