  1. Creatine is not on the banned drugs test, not only will they be looking for drugs on the urine test but also Alcohol level as well.  Dont forget the levels required for the Railway are extremley harsh and low, people have failed for just taking over the counter Cough Mixture, Plus style painkillers and even in some cases mouthwash.  If you have never done a controlled Urine test be ready for a shock at the conditions it is taken in and follow the instructions the nurse gives you.

Dont worry though and good luck

  2. I know guys that are taking creatine, it is fine, it is not illegal or banned. You are not trying out for the Olympics. The test is for narcotics and drugs without a prescription, things that would affect your safe performance of your job.

  3. creatin is not an illegal substance,  why would you fail a drug test?    you are not playing  a pro sport  that would  be  a different issue.   work drug tests are only concerned with illegal drugs  marijuana, cocaine, etc...

  4. No. Employment drug tests check for specific illicit drugs. Creatine isn't one of them. Just let your tester know you take creatine. It shouldn't be a problem.

  5. I've had many tests for drugs and alcohol under Network Rail.  They don't just test for any drugs they test for specific drugs.  They include Benzopiates, which are found in Benylin cough medicines so don't believe its just for illegal drugs.

The best thing you can do is keep off any drugs including prescribed or otherwise until after the test.  If you suspect you may have some in your body at the time of the test.  Inform the tester and tell them the name of the drug as failure to disclose any information and they find traces of a drug will result in a test failure and loss of job opportunity.

  6. If you are not worried about passing this urinalysis for any other reason then i would`nt worry at all. Science is sofisticated enough to tell the difference . creatine will show that you are taking a suppliment. If that is the only reason for your concearn than I can`t help you.

  7. If the drug is legal and does not induce symptoms which make it dangerous to drive or operate heavy machinery (tiredness, intoxication, etc) it should be acceptable.

Ask you new employer/doctor before you start if you are able to take this drug whilst working...honesty is the best policy.

    good luck with the job

  8. No, creatine is not illegal...companies can choose which drugs they want to test for and what levels but I've NEVER heard of any employer testing for creatine

  9. Not really sure what the rules are on the railways but a few people i know use a home detox kit to flush other drugs out of their systems and it works. You can by them in most high st chemist's

  10. Network Rail have an extensive list of banned substances, which includes many perfectly legal, over the counter medications, such as certain cough serums, pain killers etc.

The only way to be sure is to check with your employer, who will then seek expert guidance.
