Hi there,

I am doing a project and need to work out a percentage of New Zealanders living in Australia...

There is roughly 850,000 NZers living in Australia and the Australian population is roughly 20,434,176

How do I work this out into a percentage (out of 100%)

Regards

  1.          20'434'176                             850'000

                100                                       X

    X=100 x 850'000 / 20'434'176 =4.16,then you would say 4.19 percent of

    Australians are from NZ.

  2. 850,000 / 20,434,176 = .04159 = 4.16%

  3. 850000 / 20434176 = 4.16%

  4. divide the total number by the number you want to find the precentage of,

    850000/20434176=0.04159697949161248293...

    move the decimal place to the right twice

    004.1596979491612482930557121559489

    round it

    4.16

    and there's your percent

    4.16%
