Question:

Working out during school?

When school starts il have soccer everyday after school and get home around 5 and will be too tired to weight lift probably plus I got schol work so u think it's an okay idea to work out just say Fri Sat Sun but like here's what I think

Fri. Chest Tricepts and Traps

Sat. Back Bicepts and forearms

Sun. Legs and Shoulders

and all the other days ill have soccer plus I can come home and do ab workouts...good idea will I stil gain or at least maintain muscle or it's not enough? Any other suggestions...fri sat and sun are really the only days I could workout unless somehow I get free time and am well rested

Well when I was on track and working....with customer servicece so major stress, and went to college full time, I worked out everyday after work for 15-30 min and it woke me up but yes after I fell alseep, but you already have soccer and you want to work out....wow, if I was you I would work out just sat. and sun for an hour and do what you plan on doing but add extra like jump roping, running/jogging, or even swiming. But if you can handle three days go for it.


  2. You seem to have focused on Chest and arms except for Sunday which you are doing a lil of leg exercises - you can't really do that. You need to change exercises and let your muscles rest.

    Best is to exercise every other day (I mean if you wanna work hard to get muscles) because muscles need to rest. Either try working out "hard" every other day or if you wanna do it on Fri, Sat, and Sun. just very the exercises a little.

Several of the exercises you have chosen involve the use of the same muscles.  Exercising your chest, triceps and shoulders all involve extensive interaction of these muscles.  If you could work your schedule so you could workout three times a week with a day off in between it would be better.  Your muscles need time to repair on the off days.   I found the best time to workout is in the early morning when no one will bother you.  Also after a workout you need a shower, which is something you would do in the morning anyway.  Think about it.....on the weekends you will want to do fun things (homework? hehe), spend time with friends and family, hobby things, video games, some sport you and your buddies may want to play.  A lot of distractions.  Trying to cram all your exercising into 3 consecutive days with no rest between will not produce a lot of muscle growth.

Yea thats fine. just be sure to get a good meal in when you come home from school to add those calories that you just burned at soccer. but yea. when i played football in school, we always practiced until football season was over(november, december), and then when we came back from christmas break we worked out everyday in the weight room and outside exercises until school let out.
