Working papers?!?!?!?!?

i started school today (8th grade) and my home ec teacher said when we turn 14 we can recieve working papers from guidance and yeah so i wanted to know whats on them.

  1. Depends on where you live, only some states offer this, but when I was in NY I had working papers.  

    Basically, you go take a physical at the doctor's office, and when they pass you, the guidance counselor reviews your grades and attendance and determines if working would effect your grades or not.  Once the counselor and your parents sign those papers you can apply for jobs, and show the papers, the papers have time restrictions on them, and other safety precautions since you're a minor.

    Usually they will say that you can only work until 11 on a school night and midnight on a weekend, and that you can't work any more than 25 hours a week, and not around machinery or dangerous chemicals.
