Working with SEN children?

I know this is what i want to do but am struggling as there are so many paths to choose with this career move, My Open uni course starts soon where Im starting with a simple build up course called understanding children and will probley go on to do child development, but other courses to do with SEN children require you to be in a workplace before you can study it, just need help on what direction i want to take this, wouldnt mind starting off as a TA but dont want to do that forever.

  1. Then do that, be a TA for a year, the go to the ou. If you want to work in SEN, decide if it is in the private sector, LEA or at ground zero the school direct every day involvement.


  2. Have you thought about volunteering for an agency, park district program,  or therapy center with special needs children during the summer? You will get a chance to meet professionals from various areas and talk to them about their education and careers. Being a TA for these children is also a great idea.
