Works Cited in MLA style?

Question

I need to know if Im suppost to enter the citation after the sentence or if I just put it on the works cited page? Please help.

you write your sentence (no period), then put a citation in parenthesis behind the sentence, then put your period.

the citation should include the author's last name and the page number-if available.

George shot Lennie out of mercy (Steinbeck 105).

then put your long citation at the end in your Bibliography or works cited page. this should include many picky details.  if it's a book you put the author, published date, where it was published etc.
