By the time Burt Munro set his record in 1962 how many cc's was the Indian and what are cc's? Also, why wasn't the run that he made going 206mph recorded? The time where he lifted his head and his goggles came off.

  1. The 1962 engine was a 85Occ engine.

cc stands for 'cubic centimeters', which is the measurement for an engine's 'displacement': the total volume of air/fuel mixture an engine can draw in during one complete engine cycle. The more cc's, the more powerful the engine, all other things being equal.

The 206 mph run is not recorded because he crashed on that run, therefore it was not considered a successful run (and therefore not in the record books).
