World Champion Geoff Huegill says he will be faster in Shanghai World Championships – Swimming news
World Champion Geoff Huegill has claimed that he is going to be faster in the FINA World Championships in Shanghai later in 2011.
“It's going to be a fast meet, there's no doubt about that,” he said. “... I believe if you're going to be coming away with a medal you're going to be doing 51 lows. So in terms of expectations, that's what I'm expecting to do.”
Earlier, he was not able to qualify for the World Championship trials in March 2011, but luckily, he received the green signal from the Swimming Australia to be able to feature in the FINA World Championships in July 2011.
Huegill said, “I only had a six-week preparation and as well as trials I was juggling an international wedding and doing other commitments,” he said after Swimming Australia announced a new three-year partnership with Swisse Vitamins on Saturday.
Furthermore, he said that he will be going to make full use of that as a wakeup call to realise that if he is going in with a genuine splash in London Olympic Games in 2012, then he has to be better than anybody else in competitive swimming.
He admitted that his wedding has given him an immense level of peace in his own life heading towards the 2012 Olympics in London.
Geoff Huegill is a renowned swimmer of Australia today. He is best known for his impeccable speed and acrobatic styles in butterfly swimming in the world.
