World Champion Tom Daley snatches the solo silver title at Mexico World Series Event
The World Champion Tom Daley clinched the solo silver medal in the Men’s 10m platform meet, as he secured 562.80 points at the World Series event in Mexico on April 24.
Daley has shown a remarkable improvement in his diving at the Marco Sports Centre in Guanajuato this week. He commenting on his performance said, “it had not been a great competition.”
Tom is considered as the super star of Great Britain in the 10m platform. He is known as a competitive diver due to his stunning, elegant and graceful diving performances.
Daley has captured the attention of Britain on account of his stunning and acrobatic diving performances in several events so far. He is considered as the future of the Britain’s diving for the upcoming tournaments.
He won the golden crown in the Men’s 10m platform in the 2009 World Championships in Rome. He clinched the gold medal in the corresponding meet in the 2008 European Championships in Eindhoven.
Tom has also captured the two golden crowns in the Men’s 10m platform and the platform synchro in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India. In the 2011 British Gas Swimming Championships, he nabbed the golden crown in the Men’s 10m synchro.
Meanwhile, Bo Qiu of China captured the 10m platform crown with a stunning score of 582.45 and Rommel Pacheco of Mexico snared the bronze title with a brilliant score of 540.90. However, Peter Waterfield wound up fifth with 512 points in the meet.
In the 10m synchro final event, Rebecca Gallantree and Megan Sylvester took the fifth spot, whereas Ben Swain and Nick Robinson Baker settled fifth in the 3m synchro.
He and Peter Waterfield captured their historic golden crown in the Men’s 10m synchro at the 2011 FINA World Series in Sheffield last week.
However, they had to suffer a lot in the Mexico World Series event this week as they wound up fifth with a total score of 402.75.
On the other hand, Gallantree and Alicia Blagg had to settle eighth in the Women’s 3m synchro at Guanajuato. It was really one of the most miserable performances from this pair in this meet.
Fabulously, Ivan Garcia and German Sanchez of Mexico stunned the crown by clinching the golden crown in the corresponding meet.
Meanwhile, both Daley and Peter Waterfield have joined together in a partnership to represent British Diving.
Currently, both British divers have been preparing hard for the upcoming FINA World Championships at Shanghai in July and the British Diving team has had great expectations from them with the respect to their good performance in the Shanghai World Championships.
