World Cup Special Report: Top 10 South American-Based Players Likely To Jump to Europe

Here is a list of the ten top players from South America that are most likely to bag a place in a major European team.

1.     Patricio Rodriguez (Argentina Independiente)
Patricio’s style of play is a bit different because he always seems to play a behind the striker. The Argentinean’s have told that he is the replacement for Kun Aguero.
Rodriguez is a short guy, amazingly skilled with the ball and lots of pace. He is only 20 years old and European teams are already negotiating a possible transfer for him.

2.     Neymar da Silva (Brazil, Santos)
Only 18 years old, the Brazilian striker amazes the entire country, to a point where a petition was signed by over 14,000 people just so Carlos Dunga would take him to the World Cup.

Santos did get cut from the final World Cup team in the end but still everyone believes that he has a great career ahead of him. Experts say that Santos has Bebeto, Robinho and Ronaldo’s traits all in one in him and what is most important for him right now is that he finds a team that does not burn him out at such an early age.

The Spanish Leagues want him and West Ham has already starting bidding hard for him.

3.     Alvaro Gonzalez (Uruguay, Nacional)
Known for his astonishing pace, he is definitely very talented when it comes to controlling the ball. Gonzalez has acquired eleven caps playing for the Uruguayan national team.
Gonzalez came from the Boca Juniors and made his way to the Uruguay's champion team, he is 24 years of age, and several European teams have shown interest in him for the bigger stages.

4.     Nicolas Otamendi (Argentina, Velez)
Nicolas is a strong, determined and aggressive central defender. At only age 22, he has mesmerized everyone in his country, to the point that Diego Maradona actually brought him to the World Cup, and half of Europe is already bidding to get him.

Nicolas is playing for the Argentinean side for now in the World Cup but a transfer is definitely impending.

5.     Juan Carlos Arce (Brazil, Sport Recife)
Arce is already on loan in Terek Grozny’s Russian team and is the official property of Brazilian Recife.

He is a skilled and a fast striker, but does not dribble much only when needed and his aim is always to shoot for the goal.

6.     Miller Bolaños (Ecuador, LDU de Quito,)
 Nineteen years old, the Ecuadorian attacking midfielder has a lot to learn, but his presence in the midfield, his speed and his shots from outside the box make him a good addition to any team.

From Europe to Mexico and Argentina, everybody has an eye out for Miller and are watching his every move.

7.     Jonathan Cristaldo (Argentina, Velez)
Cristaldo is only twenty years old and has shown everyone that he has the felicity to even keep a ball hidden, when inside the box and then finish by scoring with ease. All in all, he is considered a very mature player.

Cristaldo has played three seasons in Velez and now is looking towards bigger and better things.

8.     Mario Fernandes (Brazil, Grémio,)
When someone is only 20 years old and you have Real Madrid, Bayenr Munich, Porto, Barcelona or Juventus looking after you then you just definitely have to be good.

This young defender has only played one season at the highest level with Brazilians, and is already giving signs of becoming the next best thing in Brazil's defence. His movement off the ball and anticipation are amazing.

9.     Santiago Garcia (Uruguay, Nacional,)
Santiago is averaging a goal every two games, and has proved just how vital he is for the Uruguayan side.

Garcia is not specifically great at any one thing, but has the movement of a true striker who always knows where to be, and astonishingly always seems to find the net constantly and easily. He is a member of Uruguay's Under 20 team, and is expected to be a part of a European team very soon.

10.   Sergio Araujo (Argentina, Boca Juniors,)
Serigo Araujo has not yet exploded with his undeniable talent, but is showing readiness to and teams like Real Madrid are actually keeping an eye out for him.

Araujo is a practical and a very agile striker, and he has the talent to dribble, but most of the times he prefers to go for the goal as soon as possible.
