World Cup victory to be a perfect gift to Tendulkar: Dhoni
Indian captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 hot favourite.
Tendulkar is the highest run-scorer in both the Test and One Day International cricket and had completed his half-century of Test match centuries recently during the series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. He is considered one of the greatest batsmen of all time.
"Most likely it would be his last World Cup, we want him to play maybe one or two more like every Indian but, practically speaking, you know it would be his last world cup, so that can be the team’s greatest gift to him," Dhoni said in an interview.
The little master started his career in 1989 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javed-Miandad-c66580’s record of six World Cup appearances by playing in the upcoming mega event. With more than 32,000 runs, Tendulkar stands top among batsmen and holds the record of 97 centuries in international cricket.
Tendulkar has had an amazing career but failed to taste a World Cup success and Dhoni believes that the current Indian team has the ability to conquer the mega event. He, however, expressed disappointment over missing the opportunity of playing at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, with massive capacity of 100,000 spectators. He said, "Playing before 100,000 cricket spectators would have been really special."
