World Football News: Fabio Capello banks on John Terry to recover from his back injury problem
Capello, the English national team manager has come out and supported the ex-English national team captain who has pulled out of the English national team squad with a back injury. John Terry has been quite despondent about his back injury
as he admitted in an interview that the injury might sideline him for months even from football altogether.
Capello on the other hand has backed his central defender as he said, "It is a good decision. I read he will be out for a long time but he has played a lot of games with an injection. I spoke with him a few times and asked him whether
he was fit to play. You can't play with injections all the time. It is impossible."
Fabio Capello admitted that he knew about Terry’s injury in full detail. On the issue he stated, "He didn't play because he wasn't fit. Now you know why. We must wait but we don't think it will be a big problem.” The English national team
manager went onto comment on Andy Carroll as well. The English striker who has been included in the three lions plans for their friendly match against France at Wembley.
Capello spoke about Carroll saying, "We have monitored him for a long time. We also saw him in a few games for England (Under-21s). He is a really interesting player because his movement is very good. He takes one touch, or two maximum.
He runs a lot and can also switch the play very quickly. For this reason he will start tomorrow. I want to see the level of all these three young players against a tough team like France."
England and France both had disastrous World Cups in South Africa but Fabio still reckons that the friendly match will be a test of abilities for his young squad which contains many new comers to the English setup.
The ex-Real Madrid man said, "It will be a really important test for us. France have some really dangerous players close to the box and they always go forward when they win the ball. I have to see how my young players perform against an
important team like this. But these young players give me a lot of confidence for the future. They are not here because of injuries. They are here because they are the future of England." England’s squad includes the likes of Jack Wilshire, Andy Carroll, Jay
Bothroyd and Jordan Henderson along with experienced players such as Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand.
