World History AP essay help?

Question

so i have to write an essay for WHAP and i have no idea how to do this.

he gave us the thesis:

The Byzantine Empire was built on the legacies of the Roman Empire, However it also grew it's own traditions which went on to influence other peoples throughout Eurasia.

please help me :/

Look through your textbook and search for the chapter on the Byzantine Empire. You can also use study aids like the Princeton Review and College Board books.

Read about the Byzantine empire in either the textbook or the study aid, and take notes.Be sure to especially focus on proving the thesis given while writing your notes.

Write the essay with the help of your notes.

Don't be afraid to ask your teacher for help. He was paid to help you, and most likely will.

And don't procrastinate. The homework takes time and requires planning. Doing a little bit every day until the due date will make the work load seem a lot more bearable.

If you are give the thesis, the rest is a piece of cake. Just research the subject and come up with 3 concrete examples.

paragraph 1 - intro: your thesis statement (the statement you used above)

paragraph 2 - body: discuss how it was built on the legacies of the Roman Empire - read your book and look over your class notes for details

paragraph 3 - body: discuss how and what traditions it grew

paragraph 4 - body: discuss how it influenced peoples throughout Eurasia

paragraph 5  - conclusion: restate your thesis

Look in your book at the Byzantine Empire.  There should be a section on this exact topic if you have the same book we used in my WHAP last year.
