I was given the guidelines to write a page paper about:

Why does our nation place so much importance on the past?

I had listed some bad issues that had happened (wars, economical struggles, and diseases) but what are some good things that happened in the past? This is for World History Class (High school).

Thanks, all websites are appreciated

  1. Because like the other person said, the past repeats itself. We need to learn about the past to keep from repeating the same mistakes and try to learn from the things that were good.

  2. because the past defines the future. fashion repeats itself we fight the same wars and battles over and over and have the same problems. new year same problem. some good things hmm how about all the inventions of the past that are being used for newer and greater inventions and ideas. look at what we are able to do with computers that were not possible 50 years ago. cat scans etc

  3. This site should help:

  4. Simple look at all the great inventions that have come from our nation.

    The  telegraph-

    The telephone-

    Electrical grids, oil production

Agriculture machine to replace the horse.

    The airplane

Creation of a National Parks system so early.

Creation of the Tennessee Valley Authority to generate electricity for rural areas from dams & rivers.

We have all been educated to remember the past or we are doomed to repeat it. Our country needs to do this because we are so young compared to say England, France, China Russia, etc.

    Happy World History..
