World Series Hockey engages Red Digital for social media campaigning
Considering the importance of social media, the World Series Hockey (WSH) engaged Red Digital for the promotional campaign of its first edition that is scheduled to be played from December 17, 2011 to January 22, 2012, in different cities of India.
Red Digital is a services-provider and an idea-conceiving company based in Mumbai that controls new media, including traditional web, mobiles, games and social media.
Red Digital has the experience of promotional campaigns with numerous multinational chains, including Adidas Cricket, Monginis, Godrej and IPL franchise Mumbai Indians. It is considered a specialist for game promotions in the social media sector.
Founder and Managing Director of Red Digital, Harsh Jain, expressed delight and pleasure on being selected for the campaign.
He observed, “It is truly humbling for us that Red Digital has been chosen as the social media partner for WSH. There is tremendous interest for Hockey in India and WSH will be a tournament of international calibre featuring the world's best players”.
He asserted that they will capture every interactional moment of the hockey league for sport lovers in the world of electronics and internet.
WSH’s Vice President Marketing, Sorbojeet Chatterjee, also expressed similar feelings of delight for the hired agency.
While giving his opinion, he said, “Their prior experience in handling leading sports brands coupled with a deep understanding of consumer behaviour in the digital space will definitely ensure there is a high level of engagement and traction for WSH”.
In the recent moves, the media agency is appealing the hockey lovers and fans in numerous activities, including trivia, polls, promos, contest and games.
Additionally, it is also working to promote the WSH on Facebook, which is used by more than 700 million people.
In order to revive the significance of the game, these promotional campaigns are necessary to give a new life to the sport as well as the event.
Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) and Nimbus Sports is jointly organising the lucrative hockey league. A total of eight franchised-based teams will contest the league in numerous cities of the country.
The teams featuring in the money-making league are: Ranchi and Rourkela, Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Punjab, Pune, Hyderabad, Bhopal and Bangalore.
More than 200 international and domestic players will don colours in 61 games, in the month-long league.
It is worth highlighting here that some of the Indian stars will contest the cash-rich league, including Arjun Halappa, Diwakar Ram, Bharat Chetri, Dhanraj Pillai, Rajpal Singh, Sandeep Singh, Adrian D'souza, Sardara Singh, Prabhjot Singh, Dhanajay Mahadik,
Shivendra Singh, William Xaixo, Prabodh Tirkey, Yuvraj Walmki, Mandeep Antil, SV Sunil and Rozhan Minz.
With the collaboration of Red Digital, the WSH will succeed in promoting the event not only across the country but abroad as well.
