World Snooker Q School: Session two results – Snooker News
The best-of-seven frames session two of this season’s World Snooker Q School has concluded at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.
The overall results for the afternoon session are given below:
Simon Bedford 4-1 Shaun Wilkes
First match of the afternoon session between Simon Bedford and Shaun Wilkes did not take much time, as Bedford comfortably registered a 4-1 victory over his opponent. Bedford, in the meanwhile, also showcased classy breaks of 47, 39 and 72 in the second,
third and fifth frames, respectively.
David Gray 4-2 David Singh
Second match of the session attracted a bit of crowd, as the people were to see the former ranking event’s winner, David Gray, in it. Singh tried his best against Gray, who won the 2003 Scottish Open and reached two other ranking event’s finals. His effort
went in pain, as his opponent came was superior in the safety battle and moved in the second, with a comfortable 4-2 win.
Sam Harvey w/o Luca Brecel
The only lucky player in the session was Sam Harvey, who was a given a walk-over after Luca Brecel withdrew himself due to some reason.
Mitchell Mann 4-2 Zac Surety
Another routine match who saw the favourite player moving into the next round was between Mitchell Mann and Zac Surety. Surety tried his best to win but Mann, who is a young promising snooker player from Birmingham, did not allow him to clinch more than
two frames. The top break of the match was 68, which came from Mann in the fifth frame.
Jamie Clarke 1-4 Ian Burns
One of the best performances of the session came from Ian Burns, as he knocked in magnificent breaks of 76, 69, 46, 46 and 44 against the Welsh youngster, Jamie Clarke, to progress into the next round with an impressive 1-4 win.
James Silverwood 1-4 Stuart Carrington
Another excellent act in the second session came from Stuart Carrington, who outclassed his opponent with superb breaks of 92, 61, 47, 37 and 37. Carrington has now set up a potential clash with Charlie Walters in the next round.
