World Snooker announces PTC Event 2 draws: South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester
Players Tour Championship (PTC) Event 1 ended successfully at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield. The Rocket, Ronnie O’Sullivan, grabbed the title beating Joe Perry in the final. Snooker's governing
body, World Snooker has announced the draws for second PTC event on Tuesday, July 5 at South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester.
Players Tour Championships (PTC) Event 2 will commence from August 6 to 10. The initial stage will include a qualifying session of the event among amateurs while the professional players will enter
the event on August 8.
Some classy encounters are lined up in the qualifiers. Seven-time World Ladies Snooker champion, Reanne Evans, will take on Michael Judge again. Both have played against each other in 2011 Welsh Open
qualifiers where Judge defeated Evans 4-1.
Another scintillating encounter will be the one between Mitchell Mann and Zak Surety. Both cuemen tried their luck in the World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) but could not make it to the pro
tour. However, they have faced each other in Q School Event 1 and 3 where Mann was victorious.
The event will be a tremendous gathering of all international cuemen at the academy. The winner of first PTC event, O’Sullivan is also thrilled to be a part of the tournament at his practising place.
On the other hand, Paul Mount, owner of South West Snooker Academy, is also delighted to host one of the famous snooker events.
While speaking to the reporters, Mount said, “I am delighted World Snooker have recognised our new facility as a venue suitable to host their professional tournaments which will include all 96 Professional
players including John Higgins, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump and of course our local players Robert Milkins and Jack Lisowski.”
He added about the academy, “The SWSA has put Gloucester on the Snooker map and is regarded, worldwide, as one of the finest snooker venues in the World and without doubt the venue where the spectators
can get closest to the players and really experience the excitement and tension of professional snooker.”
The South West Snooker Academy is going to host three major snooker events for the first time including PTC 2 and Snookerbacker Classic.
