World Snooker announces players and fixtures of 2012-13 Premier League Snooker
Snooker governing body across the globe, World Snooker has announced the name of the players and fixtures of 2012-13 Premier League Snooker. The 2011-12 Snooker Season finished successfully with the end of 2012 World Snooker Championship featuring the Rocket,
Ronnie O’Sullivan as the eventual winner after he defeated Ali Carter by the score line of 18-11 in the final.
The list of players who made it to the Premier League Snooker:
Shanghai Masters Champion: Mark Selby (World Ranked #1)
2011 UK Champion: Judd Trump (#2)
Wild Card: John Higgins (#5)
2011 Brazil Masters Champion: Shaun Murphy (#6)
2012 Masters Champion: Neil Robertson (#7)
2012 PTC Grand Final Champion: Stephen Lee (#8)
2012 Championship League Winner: Ding Junhui (#11)
2012 Haikou World Open Champion: Mark Allen (#12)
2011 Australian Goldfields Open Champion: Stuart Bingham (#16)
2012 China Open Champion: Peter Ebdon (#20)
Besides the World Championship victory, the Essex Exocet claimed that this year he might not take part in the Premier League event because he has not signed the contract with World Snooker. However, he can still come back into the line-up after he signs
the contract at any time during the season.
The players have been divided into two groups, each containing at least five players. The first group of the line-up comprises of the 2012 Welsh Open winner China’s Ding Junhui who performed impressively in the last season despite the fact that he crashed
out of the World Championship in the first round.
Former World Snooker Champion Shaun Murphy is also in good shape and can make an appearance at the arena. However, he will be challenged by another former champ, Australia’s Neil Robertson who is also in Group 1. Robertson played tremendously in the 2012
Masters snooker event and was able to claim the title.
