World Snooker boss Barry Hearn happy as PartyPoker.net sponsors 2012 German Masters
German Masters snooker tournament was one of the initiatives taken by World Snooker Chairman, Barry Hearn, in order to expand the game across the world. The 2011 German Masters was the first major ranking snooker event in Germany that attracted fans from
all over the country to take part in promoting the sport.
The upcoming 2012 German Masters will commence from February 1-5 at the Tempodrom in Berlin, Germany, with its entire thrill. This time, the event will be sponsored by PartyPoker.net. Before the German Masters, PartyPoker.net has been sponsoring the Premier
League Snooker from the beginning of the tournament.
Speaking to the media at the moment of the sponsorship’s announcement, World Snooker chief Barry Hearn said, “We are thrilled to bring PartyPoker.net on board as title sponsor. We have worked with Party at our Premier League and PTC Grand Final events so
we know that they are fantastic supporters of snooker.”
The chairman added, “Last season's German Masters gave a clear indication of the popularity of snooker in Germany, with packed crowds every day and excellent viewing figures on Eurosport. It's a very exciting market for us and no doubt the 2012 PartyPoker.net
German Masters will be another step forward as we continue to capitalise on that potential.”
Just like last season, the 2012 PartyPoker.net German Masters will feature top guns of snooker in action at the baize. Top dogs of the game like Neil Robertson, Mark Selby, Mark Williams, Stephen Hendry, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Ding Junhui and Judd Trump will
gather at the Tempodrom arena to participate in the title run.
After winning the 2011 UK Championship, Judd Trump, must be looking forward to clinch the German title too. The Ace is in splendid form and will prove to be a tough opponent during the tournament. Trump reached the first round of the 2011 German Masters
but lost to Scotland’s Stephen Hendry.
Last year’s German Masters was clinched by the Welsh Potting Machine, Mark Williams, who defeated current World Number One, Mark Selby, by the score line of 9-7 to lift the title.
