Question:

World War II Board Game?

I need some ideas on what type of board game I should use. Something kind of like the game of life or the type of games where a person has game pieces that he/she can move around the board.

Also, if you can, please state directions for the game and a goal. Thanks.

  1. i dont know

  2. have you ever played diplomacy?

it is set in pre world war one europe, but i would think that you could change it to do world war two. like, you could have plane pieces instead of just armys and battleships. =)

  3. Axis and allies is about wwii.

  4. There are thousands (literally) of games about WWII! Every battle and every scope: operational, strategic and tactical. May I suggest you pick a source (movie, book, memoir) and work from there as your inspiration. See what's been done at www.boardgamegeek.com or www.grognard.com or ConSim World (another web site).

  5. the closest you could get to a game of war is RISK...its a great game if you have time to play and a group of friends to play it with

  6. Axis and Allies would be a simple and fun option. The game is played by moving several different types of pieces (each with their own abilities) into different areas of a world map with the object of defeating the axis or allies by capturing 2 capitols or by economic victory. It sounds alot more complicated than it actually is, you get to roll one die for every piece you have in a battle (sometimes you have a lot) and you get to keep rolling until someone wins or gives up on an area. The pieces are little figures of infantry, tanks ,ships, and airplanes. Oh, you get play money too. This is the original A&A I'm talking about. There are many titles of Axis and Allies games but, only the original one covers all of WW2.
