World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE); the biggest and most dominant
An athlete needs to be quick and agile. In most of the sports the size of an athlete is not important but when it comes to wrestling, size does matter. There have been many wrestlers in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) who have dominated others with
their sheer power and size.
One of the biggest and the most dominant superstar in WWE has been the Undertaker. Also known as the “Dead-man” the Undertaker stands 6ft 11in tall. He started his career with WWE in 1990, the company back then was known as World Wrestling Federation (WWF).
The biggest achievement that the Undertaker has is his 18-0 record at the Wrestle Mania. He has defeated many superstars during his Wrestle Mania fights and has ended careers of wrestlers at the Mega event. His last victim was Shawn Michaels, who lost the
match and ultimately had to retire from the sport. The Dead-man has featured in the most deadly matches of WWE’s history. His unique matches include: The Last ride match, Casket match, h**l in a Cell, Buried Alive and Last man standing.
His famous feuds were with his own brother Kane. Both the brothers were also tag-team champions and were known as the “Brothers of Destruction.” Apart from Kane, he had a great rivalry with Mankind and Undertaker admitted that Mankind was his toughest opponent.
His finishing manoeuvres include, Chokeslam, h**l’s Gate, Last Ride and Tombstone. Undertaker has dominated the WWE ring for 20 years and still remains a threat to all the other wrestlers.
A professional wrestler and actor, Andre the Giant was the biggest when it came to size in WWE. He remained dominant throughout his wrestling career. He was also dubbed as, “The Eighth Wonder of the World.”
Andre dominated the WWE throughout the seventies and eighties. His size and weight were a huge advantage for him. Andre weighed over 230 kg. In his career, Andre was never defeated. In his 15 year career, this giant was never defeated through a submission
or a pin-fall. He had many disqualifications in his career but no wrestler was able to overcome the giant. He also received a trophy from the WWE in 1987 for his undefeated rein. In 1993, the WWE Hall of Fame was created and Andre was the first ever inductee
in that. Andre also featured in many French movies and he was loved for his acting. His greatest feud was with Hulk Hogan. The two superstars wrestled for the World Heavyweight Championship in numerous matches. Apart from Hogan, Andre had a feud with Jake
the Snake Roberts. Roberts threw a snake on Andre to reveal his fear for snakes. The finishing manoeuvres he possessed were, Double under-hook Suplex, Elbow drop pin, Kneeling belly to belly pile-driver and Standing splash.
Andre died in 1993 due to a heart failure in Paris. He was in Paris to attend his father’s funeral. His legacy will remain forever and he will remain amongst the most dominant superstars in WWE.
Apart from Undertaker and Andre, there have been many other superstars who have dominated the ring with their size and sheer power. Another dominant superstar in this sport is Kane.
Kane is a 7ft tall wrestler and he started his career with the WWE in 1997. Kane is known to be the half brother of the Undertaker but the two have no relationship in real life. Kane used to wrestle with a mask in his earlier career but he removed it 2002.
He has teamed up with Undertaker and the Big Show and has won many tag-team championships. The greatest feuds that Kane had were against the Undertaker. Kane also initiated the inferno match in which the opponent has to be set on fire to win the match.
Just as the Undertaker, Kane also has the Chokeslam and the Tombstone in his armoury, as finishing manoeuvres. He is also dubbed as, “The Big Red Monster” and “The Big Red Machine.” Kane continues to dominate the WWE like the Undertaker and is feared by
many wrestlers in this sport.
