World-class trainer Teddy Atlas picks Floyd Mayweather over Manny Pacquiao – Boxing news
World-class trainer Teddy Atlas reckons the five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion, Floyd Mayweather, will easily beat Manny ‘Pac Man’ Pacquiao, if a super fight between both boxing’s best takes place.
Manny Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), has won 53 of his 58 professional fights (2 Draws) in which 38 of his wins came by the way of a knockout.
However, the undefeated American legend Floyd Mayweather on the other hand holds an incredible record of winning all of his 42 professional fights, with 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout.
Atlas stated most of the fighters lose their confidence against Pacquiao during the fight but Mayweather can match him in confidence as he also has great credentials with him.
Mayweather is also considered as one of the most difficult boxers to hit in the ring due to his exceptional defensive techniques. Therefore, Atlas thinks it is going to be an easy win for the American.
Atlas told Fighthype.com, “I still think Floyd wins that fight against Pacquiao, if the fight gets made, and maybe he wins it easy. Maybe he wins it easy because he can match him with speed and if he can't match him, he can come close. He's better technically,
he's better defensively, he's naturally the bigger guy, and he can match him somewhere else that's real important in this kind of fight...he can match him in confidence.”
In the end Atlas, who watched the Pretty Boy knocking out Victor Ortiz very smartly in the fourth round, remarked Mayweather junior is a fighter no matter what people say.
“You can say this and that, but Floyd, right now, besides looking at his cars and all of that other stuff that makes the image, Floyd is a fighter; that's it,” Atlas added.
Mayweather and Pacquiao are both considered as the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world so a fight between them will decide who the real pound-for-pound king is.
