I want to travel to world famous racetracks as soon as I can save the money. I know of all the ones in the US, and Ascot in the UK, and the Curragh somewhere in Ireland. What are the other racetracks that I would like to see.

Please no racetracks that only has steeplechase I don't approve of steeplechasing.

Thank You in advance

  1. Sha Tin in Hong Kong. In Australia, Flemington and Monee Valley in Melbourne and Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, but with the Aussie tracks it depends who you talk to, thats just my thoughts and if you want a race track experience like no other. Birdsville Races in outback Queensland, its the Melbourne Cup of the outback.

  2. Definately check out Nad Al Sheba in Dubai.  I don't know the name of the track, but the one in France where they run the Arc is a world-class important track.  Also, the track in Hong Kong and the one where the hold the Japan Cup are important international tracks.  And I'm sure the Aussies can tell you the name of the big track in Australia.  Sorry I don't know the names of any of these tracks... if I don't get to see it on my tv or computer, then I don't know the name :o(

  3. You haven't included the racetracks in France;  Longchamp, where they run the Arc de Triomphe, should definitely be on your list.  Shah Tin and Happy Valley racetracks in Hong Kong are must-see; there's some world-class racing there.

The new Meydan Racetrack in Dubai, set to open in 2009, is bound to be awesome-- no expense spared.  Nad El Sheba, where the Dubai World Cup is held, is also a track to be seen.

In Australia, Flemington racecourse, site of the Melbourne Cup, would be a can't miss sight.  New Zealand has a bunch of tracks with exotic names; check them out:  http://www.3dnewzealand.com/tour/race-tr...

In Japan, Tokyo Racecourse, the site of the Japan Cup races, would be one you wouldn't want to miss.

If you had the resources and wanted to experience racing in unique circumstances, you'd want to see racing at St. Moritz in the snow, and racing on the beach in Spain http://fogonazos.blogspot.com/2007/03/ho...  And for sheer hedonistic good time, how about the racing festival at horse racing at the Pirae track in Papeete on the island of Tahiti?

If you have the resources and the time, and want to make the effort, there is almost no end to what you could do with touring racetracks.  So much history, so much beauty.  Wish I could go!

  4. The Bugatti Circuit is a race track located in Le Mans, France.
