  1. World hunger.  In many areas of the world people do not have enough to feed themselves and their families this can because of several factors.

    1. overpopulation- An area has to many people so much so that the land cannot produce enough food to feed them.

    2. micro climate change- a change in the environment has led to a lower production potential of the area (river dries up and local farmers cannot irrigate their crops for example)

    3. political unrest- War in an area can disrupt food production and can also drain the amount of food as others take it for their own instead of the local population.

    4. Economic-In many areas of the world food is imported from other areas.  If someone cannot afford the food due to increases in price (such as the transportation costs affecting many of the island nations due to fuel costs) they may not be able to be fed.

Most areas of the world that are experiencing world hunger have one or more of these factors contributing to the situation.
