World of Warcraft CD won't install?

Competently NEW CD, is it my CD reader?

If so how do I repair my Dell Intel Inspiron E1705 Laptops CD Reader?

The installer was unable to read the file "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft.temp\Data.temp\common.MPQ.temp"... This error may be caused by problems with the media or drive at C:\--for example, a scratched or dirty CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, hard drive corruption, or a networking problem while downloading the installer. (The data being read was "MPQs-1\unconditional\Data#common.MPQ\So... and the error code was 2002.) If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (MPQTarget::DoMPQCopy)

  1. You can download the entire WoW client if you want.  Pick your favorite host and start downloading.

  2. If the CD is not scratched or dirty and your hard drive is not losing integrity then it most likely is your CD driver.  Although it could also be other things like the driver for your hard drive controller.

  3. not sure about your driver, but when you finally do get it loading make sure you have no firewalls up and be prepared to wait a while....WOW takes FOREVER to install

  4. Go to control panel and click "Add and remove programs" then put in the CD and go to "add programs" and finally, click CD or floppy.
