World of warcraft problems?

i log onto my game it say hand shake sucees and all that BS and when it load it fulls the bar then stops and the music goes away wats wrong with it help please

Well, the servers were down for maintenance earlier today, but they should be back up now.  I'm gonna go check...brb

Okay, so I tried to log on.  I got the handshake,successful message to and then it froze on the retrieving character list page.  Now, I usually play on Lightbringer server which is one of the busiest servers...when they list the servers it almost always shows a "high" population.  I just pulled up the server listing and Lightbringer's population is "low".  Makes me think the server is still not back up.  Perhaps the same is true for the server you play on...
