After Captain Charisma, The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry became the new challenge for the World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton. The World’s Strongest Man became the new Number One contender for World Heavyweight Championship after capturing the 20-Man
Number One Contender Battle Royal during Friday Night SmackDown on August 19.
The Friday Night SmackDown segment, conducted at Bakersfield, California started with the General Manager, Theodore Long heading towards the ring. The GM introduced the new World Champion and The Viper came out among the huge pop of the WWE Universe. The
Viper discussed about his fight against Christian and then asked The GM about the new challenger for him. The GM announced that the Number One contender would be sorted out after the 20-Man Battle Royal that was the main event of SmackDown segment.
The Battle Royal took place at the end of the Friday Night SmackDown segment. The contestants for the Battle Royal were, The Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry, “The Celtic Warrior” Sheamus, Jinder
Mahal, Mahal’s Protege, The Great Khali, Ezekiel Jackson, Sin Cara, Trent Barreta, Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, William Regal, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Zack Ryder, Heath Slater, Tyson Kidd, Yoshi Tatsu and Johnny Curtis. The fight started and the first person
eliminated was Barreta by Henry. Yoshi Tatsu was eliminated second followed by Johnny. The former Intercontinental Champion, Jackson eliminated Rhodes but he himself was quickly eliminated by The Great Khali. The World’s Strongest Man eliminated Khali and
went down to the floor. Meanwhile, The Celtic Warrior eliminated remaining superstars.
At the end, there were left only Sin Cara, Sheamus, Barrett and Henry. The World’s Strongest Man was still outside the ring while Sheamus eliminated Barrett. Henry came inside and eliminated Sheamus while he was ready to drop Sin Cara. It was not difficult
for Henry to eliminate Cara and he became the Number One contender. After the victory, Henry came towards the World Champion and the show ended there.
