Question:

Worm Identification?

I was on vacation for a week, during which time my bathroom was not in use. When i returned home and went to take a shower i found this critter in my bathtub. There was no water in the tub at the time, and there are only three places i have determined it could have come from.

Either it crawled out of my brother's swimsuit which he wore into the lake a week or so before and left draped over the edge of the tub, it crawled up out of out drain which eventually leads out to the sewer, or it came from one of my cats. It is about 1.5-2" long and maybe 1/4" wide. It has a black segmented body, prefers water, and seems to have a sucker attatched to it. It uses multiple legs like a centipede, and can curl up.

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

  1. I don't know exactly what it is. I do know I have seen them in rivers and lakes in south central Pennsylvania. I think it is an insect larva.

  2. Check these, perhaps you will find what you are looking for -
