Worm in the woods?

i live in Massachusetts and i was hanging out in the woods with my friends and i looked at my arm and there was a tiny white worm about half an inch hanging on to my arm looking like it wanted to tunnel in what was it , is it parasitic

All worms are parasitic.  The fact that the worm was looking like it wanted to tunnel is just a further observation to support that fact.
