Worm medication for cats?

Do they have that at the pet stores or do we have to take her into the vet?

def take her to the vet. pet store products are very dangerous. u wouldnt go an get ur meds from a grocery cashier ud get them from a doctor. its the same thing for pets.

If you got to petsmart they have one thats safe enough for cats and kittens, and it really worked. But still goto the vet in a week or two to make sure they are gone.

once you know which treatment they need (after visiting the vet) you can then buy it from 'pet pharmacies' online. you don't need a prescription for worming tablets and it saves the stress(for the cat) of another visit to the vet.

but the ones that are sold over the counter at a pet sore are pretty useless.

you don't have to take your cat to the vet-just go in yourself and they will sell you wormer to give your cat.

Hi again! Thank you for taking the advice. Drontal is perfect, it kills all kinds of worms and is cheap. It is in pill form. Lots of websites that sell it. Try searching on line for Pet meds. It is cheaper online.

Take it to a vet. that is your best bet. The types of wormers that they sell at pet stores are not efficiant. And most of them only help with one type of worms (generally tape worms or roundworms), but Cats can have Tapeworms, Hookworms, Roundworms, whipworms, Coccidia, etc. And not one medication helps with all of them! Most vets charge about $30 for a fecal exam, so they can check for worm eggs in the f***s, then there is an office visit fee (generally $25-35). If they are positive for worms, the medicaiton is pretty cheap, generally under $20 for a cat.

Good luck, definatly spend the cash and take it to a vet, don't take the chance of making her sick!

take it to the vet the c**p they have in the pet stores you will either be wasting your money and it doesn't work or you will be putting your cat's life in danger a lot of those products can be harmful to pets.
