Question:

Worried About My Mental Health?

I've never really been mentally stable, but recently I think things have nosedived. I keep hearing voices when there isn't anything around to cause noise. I am afraid that this may be the forth-comings of schizophrenia, but my mental evaluation isn't for a month! Could anything else be causing this?

  1. stress causing this!

    I got so stressed out with my girl fiend and it caused me to hear voices and go borderline schizophrenic ...

    if u want to stay stable keep what ever is stressing you at bay and do not let things get you down by sitting there thinking about what u might and might not have. get some help get some anti-stress things such as relaxing music for about an hour a day if u are so angry with something listen to rock i listened to linkin park and i could relate to everything they said it really reliefs your stress


  2. Try gardening and spending quiet time in nature...

    Walk along the beach... or by a gentle stream...

  3. Try meditation, sit there and concentrate on breathing. Deep breaths in and out. Let that be your main focus for the month or so. Take "self time" too, try writing in a journal what is going on when this happens to you. Maybe you will see a pattern and can determine what causes this reaction. Good Luck!!

  5. if you are going through any stress right now it could be pushing you in this direction.  Stress really exacerbates mental illness and for now you need to focus on relieving all the stress in your life and doing things that are pleasurable and calming.  If nothing works then you might have to see see someone sooner than a month.  

    I know when I am going through a stressful time i try to follow a fitness regime of running and strength work outdoors to redirect my tension.  However sometimes this doesnt alway help and I need immediate care such as medications in addition to these stress relievers.  You might find solace in tai chi or chai tea, do something that keeps you active and that requires concentrations to redirect these feelings. Alot of stress causes me to get extremely anxious, irritable, and paranoid where I can barely leave my home, but having a stable and healthy schedule of positivity and eating right helps keep the stress at bay.  However, stress may not even be your problem.  If you are hearing voices and can not rid yourself of these voices, you should seek immediate help just for the sake of being on the safe side
