Worried about Verizon?

I want to get a Verizon Wireless phone (Basic individual plan). I'm worried that Verizon phones will be an abundance to pay. Do i get my first bill as soon as i get my phone? With a normal minimum wage job, is it possible to keep up with a 2 yr. contract? I know i possibly could, but i want to know how verizon has worked for others who have jobs like mine. (fast food job). Im going to college and need to keep in contact!

  1. Girl! DON'T GET VERIZON! People will tell you things, they will say its great, but really, it isn't. Thing is, it all depends on where your going to be and what features you want.

Verizon is really good and nice but it is very expensive.

I would get either Sprint, Credo Mobile, Consumer Cellular, or at&t or T-Mobile.

I do not suggest getting Verizon.

Google each of the companies I told you about and find which one is best for you. It all depends on where your going to be. I would also maybe suggest U.S. Cellular or Alltel.

If you live in Canada like I do, Bell & Telus are good companies.

It all depends on what you want.

Good Luck and email me for help!

  2. dont get us cellular or sprint like the first guy said they suck! i used to have us cellular and it costs me just as much at verizon does now but im alot happier.

  3. Yes, it is possible, but really it does depend on you.

Here are things you want to think about:

Do most of your friends and family have Verizon? If so, then you will be able to utilize the mobile to mobile and save your self minutes.

Do you do a good bit of texting? You don't want to go over in that... I review bills for customers all the time and I have seen some into the thousands of dollars because someone went crazy with texting. When this happens, I generally credit them back half of their overage fees if they then sign up for messing unlimited so that they won't have this problem again... now I work for AT&T, so I can't say that Verizon would adjust bills the same way. Actually, even with us, it is up to the discression of the manager, so it may not happen every time in an AT&T store. I will say that the only time I am not willing to work with a customer in my store is if they are rude to my staff when they come in. (I'm getting off track)

If you get a 39.99 rate plan with unlimited texting, your charges would be 59.99 a month. Keep in mind that taxes on cell phones are crazy, there are all kinds of federal charges... so if they quote you 60.00 a month, expect a 70.00 bill. With a small individual plan (under 100.00) I think an extra ten in fees is pretty accurate.

For what it's worth..if you haven't totally decided on Verizon, you should look into AT&T. We have roll over minutes, so if you were signed up for 450 and only used 400 you would keep those 50 minutes. Also, we offer early nights and weekends for 7.99 extra... which can really save you on your bill too, since you would be unlimited at 7:00 as opposed to 9:00. I know I do a good bit of calling during that 2 hour span.

Well, I have yapped your ear off.. hope I helped!

    Good luck in school.
