My brother went on a night out tonight, and phoned an hour and a half an hour ago, not drunk at all, asking for the Samaritans number. There were police/ambulance sirens in the background, and he sounded slightly rushed.

I text him the number, and he text back to say thanks. two minutes later i recieved another text message that said "It isn't for a friend, its for me...... keep it quiet"

he's since turned his phone off, and i'm really unsure of why he would be needing to phone the samaritans, he does not suffer with depression, or any drug/alcohol related issues.

please help. any ideas?

  1. Well if he needs help maybe he is getting it and just turned his phone off cause he doesnt want to be bothered.  Then too battery could've went dead.  The sirens may have had nothing to do with him.  Just because one hears a train in the background doesnt mean they are fixing to board one.  Then too dont ever ever say someone doesnt to drugs or alcohol cause it is usually those that do.  They know how to hide it and most of the time well.  Just try and stay focused and chill waiting by the phone.  By the way dont think you know everything about your brother.  You only know what you see and what he tells you.
