Worried about a teacher 4 my brother??

So we are starting up school again and I am really worried that my brother will get the teacher I had in 5th grade. She was literally the WORST teacher I ever had. She was extremely shallow (told kids how to dress and look better than they did,) gave out lists of what she wanted as gifts, had the kids a (in like 2 years before I was in that class) write to a person she knew that was in jail for rape, had us clean her messes, with bleach no less, which is against the law here and also years before my class election year like 2000 she was telling kids how their political views should be like hers. To top it off she didn't teach a thing and my bother already needs help in school. Does this seem like the kind of person to report to the school board??? What should I do if he gets her because he wont want to switch schools cause he loves his friends and the Principal is to mean to really care and never switches kids around??

  1. You probably won't get far taking your issues to the principal or the school board. Too many poor teachers around. Instead, IF your brother gets her, say a prayer of thanksgiving that you already know what to expect and help him "survive" her. Start off by helping him "practice" a good attitude toward her..role play the mean things she might say, so they won't get under his skin. Help him know how not to draw her attention in a bad way and how to get on her good side. Be available to help him with homework and assignments. This will be a good time for him to learn to teach himself so he can learn in spite of her since he won't be learning because of her. This will be one year out of 12 or more and surviving a teacher is not all bad. There are many things in life your brother will have to survive (bad bosses, death of loved ones, friends who disappoint him) and this can be an opportunity to help him develop resilience and leadership.

  2. i would contact the super intendent about this or the school board.if the pricipal doesnt care than get your parents involved,he;ll surely listen to an adult.but contact the school board if he gets there.i had a teacher like that(but not that bad) and it was a bad year for me so make sure hes in the right class.

  3. Sounds like you should be writing a letter to the Superintendent.  Better yet, write a letter to the Board of Education.  Just let them know what this teacher does.  However, the letter would have more affect coming from a concerned parent rather than a previous student.  If you really want to cause choas, write a letter to your local news paper and tell them what this teacher does.  That could REALLY make things crazy... hahahaha!!!  If you do write to any of these people, make sure you sound like a intelligent adult.  Not some snot nosed hormone raging reject of a teen ager.

Be very informative and detailed as possible when describing what this teacher does.  Being vauge and saying that she is just horrible and not providing any examples wont get you any where.  Also, stick to the truth.  Lying about this wont work out for you.  If I were you, I would write to the Board of education, the superintendent, and the local news paper.  When writing to the superintendent or board of education, get signatures of actual parents who agree with you that this teacher is not good for their children.  If the teacher is as awful as you make her sound and if you truly make an effort to rid the school system of this parasite, then I bet you could raise h**l.  Do it.
