Question:

Worried about an anole?

Okay so I used to have two anole dragons or lizards...but anyway one died the other day.. =[ It was mine, the girl (we had a girl and a boy) and they were in the same cage and everything. After she died, though, the boy won't do anything. He won't move, and I don't know if he's really eating. I have picked him up a few times...I don't know, I guess he's depressed or something? But I was wondering...we are going to get another girl and put her in the same cage with him. Do you think this will make him any better or will he not even care about the new one?

  1. Reptiles don't mourn.  Don't guess if you don't know. Sheesh.  Your anole is not mourning.  Your other lizard was most likely ill with something, and its very possible your other lizard has it too, which is why its acting lethargic.  Anoles, unless you're really attached, honestly aren't worth the vet trip.  Its a 6 dollar lizard, and over-populated and invasive.  Leave it be for a while, make sure you're keeping it warm and hydrated.  They don't like being handled, so I would cut back on that as well.

  2. I'm not really sure but i know animals can mourn so it should help if you get a new one hope that helps
